UBER Is an online international transportation company which allow you to submit a trip request by installing it in you smartphone.Whenever some one submits a trip request that request will forward to the nearby driver having the UBER app installed in his mobile and registered itself as a driver.
UBER Is providing it's services in more then 66 countries worldwide. Day by day UBER is becoming the first famous taxi service in the world.
Latest update in UBER's online app helping UBER to track the passenger's location while his is traveling in UBER or dropped to location. If UBER app is running on background in your smart phone then UBER can track your location no matter where ever you are.
Before UBER only can get the user data when the customer request for the trip and it's request remains open. But this latest update allow UBER to track and get user data after the rids end till then 5 minutes .
It means that UBER can now track your location then what was your ending location after the ride ends. So if you are going to a secret location by UBER then you location can not remain secret anymore.
I think this is a positive step taken by the UBER as criminals are avoid to use UBER if they were using this services before to move from on location to other.
The update raises worries for privacy advocates. The Electronic Privacy Information Center previously filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission over Uber’s plans to collect more user data. “The FTC failed to act and Uber is now tracking users non-stop,” EPIC says on its website.
This update also help to eliminate the conversation on call between the customer and driver, for explaining the driver for pick up spot. Because with the help of gathered customer data driver can better understand the customer's location.
Some of people are disappointed by UBER'S this step because they don't grant permission to UBER to track their location at any time.
Another problem in result of this UBER update is that, iOS user have to change their privacy setting for location - sharing. iOS user have to allow the location sharing option always for the UBER app.
However on according to UBER's website UBER will track customer's location for 5 minutes after the ride ends.So iOS and Android users have to provide pick up location manually.
